Privacy notice

Apex Mast operates this site (apexmast.com) and the Motherlode research tool hosted at motherlode.apexmast.com. This notice describes what we collect and why.

What we collect

  • Analytics: cookie-less, aggregated traffic data via Vercel Analytics. No personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking.
  • Forms: when you contact us by email, we store the address and any message content you provide, and use it to reply to you.
  • Motherlode, before you give us an email: we set a cookie on your browser so your searches are still there when you come back, and we record each question alongside a one-way hash of your network address. The hash is how we keep usage within limits; it cannot be turned back into an address.
  • Motherlode, once you give us an email: we store the address, the role you optionally tell us, the searches you run, and a session token. Searches that browser had already made are attached to your account at that point. We do not store passwords — signing in is a link sent to your inbox. We use the address to send that link and, occasionally, something about Motherlode; every one of those has an unsubscribe link.

Who else sees a question

Answering a question means sending it to two services that work on our behalf: Anthropic, which writes the answer, and Voyage AI, which turns the question into the numbers used to search the library. Both are contractually barred from training on what we send them. Nothing else leaves us.

What we don't do

  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We do not run third-party ad trackers.
  • We do not use your questions to train anything, and we do not sell or hand them to anyone for their own purposes.
